Kostritsky Yevgeny


Born in 1980 in Kiev, Ukraine, Yevgeny finished M. Lysenko Specialized Music School with highest distinction. He received his further musical education at the P. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (Ass. Prof. Ya.Rivniak) and in 2007 finished the standard doctorate (Prof. B. Kotorovych).

In 2003 Yevgeny was awarded scholarship and entered the doctorate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, class of the Professor Krzysztof Śmietana. In 2008 he graduated magna cum laude and received Master’s Degree in the following qualifications: Performer-Soloist of Guildhall, Chamber Music and Orchestra Art. From 2005 he has been studying with Prof. David Takeno.

Yevgeny is the laureate of prestigious international competitions: Pierre Lantier Competition in Paris, Petar Konjovic Competition in Belgrade, Ja. Heifetz Competition in St. Petersburg. He has been improving his skills attending master classes of Oleg Krysa, Maria Tampere-Bezrodnaya, Mark Lakirovich, Lewis Kaplan, Zvi Zeitlin, Boris Garlitsky, Mikhail Kopelman and others. He has been on tour in many European countries as well as in Japan and the USA.

In November, 2005, he was awarded the “Musician of the Year” prize from the Slaughter & May company. In September, 2007, he was invited to perform with the London Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Valery Gergiev and Sir Colin Davis.

In September, 2008, he was invited by Hobart Earle to be the concertmaster of the Odessa National Philharmonic Orchestra. Yevgeny is also the guest concertmaster-soloist of the Dnipropetrovsk Chamber Orchestra “Vremena Goda” under the guidance of the Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine Dmitry Logvin.

He plays the violin created in 1750-1760 by an Italian master Luigi Legnani.
