Petrov Ilia


Ilia Petrov (piano) received his musical education in Ukraine, Russia and the USA. His teachers were the professor of P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, People’s Artist of Russia Yuri Airapetyan (Russia, Moscow) and pianist, Professor Ivan Davis (USA, Miami). He began his concert activity at the age of 7 debuting with the Dnipropetrovsk Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ilia Petrov is the winner of the Programme and Career Grant of «The Guzik Foundation» (USA, 2006), winner of Cultural Exchange Foundation Prize (Russia – USA) (president and conductor – People’s Artist Konstantin Orbelyan).

Ilia leads active concert activity and performs regularly in the USA, France, Italy, Latvia, Armenia, Russia, and Ukraine.

His concerts were carried out in the halls of Moscow Conservatory (Grand Hall, Rachmaninoff Hall and Small Hall), Legion of Honour (San Francisco, USA), Chicago Cultural Center (Chicago, USA), Harvard University (Boston, USA), Barge of Music (New York, USA), Gusman Hall (Miami, USA), Auditorium du Louvre (Paris, France) and many others.

…the beauty of his piano sound and his ability to slip into and out of fleeting accents struck me as major pianism of the first rank.
